The BuzzFree Guide to Limo Etiquette

This is your night. Ladies in their gowns and gentlemen in their tuxedos. This is no night to look like an amateur. It's time to look like and act like a pro. So here are some simple tips to ensure your night goes well.

Bring On the Manners!

Make your mothers proud. As every limo driver is expected to treat you and your guests with utmost respect, providing the most pleasant service possible, the savvy customer treats the limo driver and the limo with respect as well. Gracious "Please's" and "Thank You's" will fill the air.

Hoopin' and Hollerin'

Always remember that you are a passenger in a vehicle, and even though the driver may be way up front, they need to be able to maintain a safe ride for every passenger. Unruly or risky behavior can pose a hazard for everyone.

Enjoy the Elegance You Deserve

Your night in a limo isn't just about the ride. It's about service, and that includes being treated like royalty. This is your red carpet night, so sit back and allow your driver to do his or her job. Here are some simple rules to remember:
Rule 1: Remain seated and in the car until your limo driver has found a safe place to park
or drop you off.
Rule 2: Give your driver time to come and open the limo doors for you when you arrive.
This is one thing passengers rush to do on their own. And above all,
the sunroof is not an exit.

Ending the Evening

Your evening was spectacular, but now it must end. Here are two final points to remember. Make sure you leave the limo clean and in the condition it arrived.

Tipping

It is customary to tip your limo driver 10 percent to 15 percent of the rental fee. When tipping your limo driver, make sure you have the tip ready prior to exiting the vehicle and concluding your trip. The most polite and discreet method is to place the tip in an envelope.

Party Responsibly

Limo drivers and companies are legally accountable for their passengers. It is illegal for any passenger under the age of 21 to consume or be in possession of alcohol. In fact, it is illegal to drive a vehicle with minors in possession of alcohol or any illegal drug. If a passenger is in possession of alcohol or other drugs, or show signs of illegal consumption, the limo driver reserves the right to stop the vehicle and call for an alternative ride.

Why so much attention to etiquette?

First of all, it can make all the difference in determining the success of your current and future limo rides. Second, the limousine is one of the most memorable parts of prom night. Make sure that it's a good one for everyone.

Have a great Prom!
